Cranberry-Walnut Morning Cake

Cream together: 1 stick butter, 1 cup sugar and 2 eggs

Blend together:
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking powder
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 pint sour cream
1 tsp. almond extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 large can cranberry sauce (whole berry)

Cream first three ingredients. Add flour mixture to cream mixture, alternatively with sour cream. Add extract and nuts. Pour half the batter into a greased tube pan. Spread half can of cranberry sauce on top of batter. Pour in rest of batter, top with remaining cranberry sauce. Bake at 350 for 50 - 60 minutes. Allow to cool before removing from the pan.

Topping:
Mix together ¾ cups of confectionery sugar, ½ teaspoon almond extract, and add enough warm water so you can drizzle from spoon over warm cake. Preparation Time: 20 minutes, Baking Time: 50 - 60 minutes.
